Ten years ago, I believed that sports teams chose you. Where you were born, who your father supported, your college teams, where you live ... your fan allegiances were pretermined. My destiny as a sports fan should have been the Yankees (my dad's team), the Montreal Canadiens (my husband's team), Rutgers football (my college team) and the New England Revolution (the hometown soccer team). Instead, the team I chose all by myself is Manchester United, in the English premier football (soccer) league. I have my husband Ted to thank, because he introduced me to the premier league when our cable system began showing matches on the weekends. Man U is in a rebuilding year, with a new coach and a handful of exciting new players from all around the world who can return the team to its winning ways. I'll be watching.
am not a fan of Man u but i like the way they compose themselves when under pressure
