What could be more self-explanatory than the name of this blog?
My name is Lydia Walshin. From 2006-2017, I published a food blog, The Perfect Pantry®, and for years before that, I worked as a food writer and cooking instructor.
A few years ago I began to feel that the only thing people know about me is that I write about food. I also love red eyeglasses, wooden spoons, non-musical theater, Asian grocery stores, photographing in old colonial cities, growing herbs, folk music, almost anything starring Dame Judi Dench, the humor of Andy Borowitz, the insight of Rachel Maddow, and detective shows on television.
This blog is where I share what interests me. Art, books, travel, gardening, cooking, humor, photography. No limits, no schedule. Whatever, whenever.
Though I'm no longer creating recipes on The Perfect Pantry®, if cooking is your thing, please search there for hundreds of easy, mostly healthy recipes.
And if you're following my second act about building a volunteer life, I share that journey here, along with all the other nifty things that cross my path.
Thanks for visiting. I hope I'll surprise you, as life surprises me.
Lydia
PS: If you run across something -- a book, movie, CD, idea, video, etc. -- that you think I'd like, please send it to me at lydiawalshin42 AT gmail DOT com. If I like it, I'll share it.
