Daffodils

Every year I add a few more daffodils to my garden, doing my best to guarantee that, no matter how brutal winter might be, come Spring, I will see happiness outside my window. Many of the varieties I have came from my friend Marcia, who dug the bulbs from her garden before she moved to New Mexico. I'd love to try some of these split cup daffodils this year. They look like one flower inside another, making them the double whammy of daffs. Maybe that will bring double happiness next April.

Seed catalogs

My herb garden, buried under several inches of packed snow, holds all the promise of spring, and so do the seed catalogs that begin to fill my mailbox.
